Excellent French Mas 49/56 Rifle in 7.5x54 French MAS

The owner purchased this in the 1990's and fired 20 rounds of ammo through it, it appears to be unfired otherwise since arsenal rebuild in 1967. This is not one of the recent junk imports. The MAS 49/56 was introduced in 1957 and was an updated version of the original MAS 49. The 49/56 was made shorter and lighter to help airborne troops be more mobile. It is chambered in 7.54x54 Frrench MAS caliber. This rifle features an integral grenade launcher front sight. The MAS 49/56 was used in combat all over the world and was known as the pride of the French Foreign Legion. These rifles are rare and supplies were thought to have dried up.
