Frank Wesson and his brothers Edwin and D.B. were all significant individuals in the

firearms trade. The oldest of the three was Edwin Wesson who was a premier maker of

accurate muzzle loaders and instrumental in the development of telescopic sights. He also

trained his younger brothers in the firearms trade. Edwin is covered in the first volume

as well as some of the other interesting makers that were located near, or worked with,

Frank Wesson. Frank Wesson was a gunmaker active from the Civil War years until

about 1890. During this time he made about 100,000 firearms of various types including

carbines, pocket rifles, derringers, revolvers, two trigger rifles and even some long range

Creedmoors. All of his products are covered in detail. Two volumes of the set are devoted

to his products. This three volume set is produced in high quality color on heavy paper, 11”

x 14” totalling almost 800 pages. Limited printing of 500 slipcase sets.
