Howell Arms conversion cylinder for the 1851 Pietta Engraved. The RD1851PE converts your Pietta 1851 or 1861 Navy revolver to fire the .38 Long Colt or our 38 Special ammo item number cartridge using hollow base or heeled bullets. You can also use 38 Special Hollow Based Wadcutter ammunition. Naval Battle scene engraving found on the original cylinder is included. The cylinders are rated "For Black Powder or Equivalent Loads Only", which includes the current Cowboy Loads on the market. To overcome the larger bore of the original barrel, it is recommended that you use hollow based bullets or heeled type bullets.
