Custom Antique Remington Rolling Block 38 Caliber 26" Octagon

Custom antique No. 1 Remington Rolling Block rifle appears to be a 38 caliber, possibly a 38-50 Remington. The 26" octagon barrel is original and my have been rebored at one time and has an excellent bore. The buttstock appears original but the forend is a nicely done replacement and has a cleaning rod installed and held on with thimbles under the barrel. I was not able to pull the cleaning rod out and remove the forend. The lower tang is missing a wood screw, easily replaced. The barrel is turning plum collored along with the action. Sporting a brass blade and semi buckhorn rear sight this rifle is just waiting to be taken hunting.
