Antique 1898 Krag Carbine 30-40 Krag 22" Barrel

Up for sale today is an antique US Springfield M1898 Krag Carbine chambered in caliber .30-40 Krag. This original cavalry carbine shows blued areas fading to greay or plum overall finish on metal parts, and a dark bore with readily apparent, strong rifling. The stock bears no cartouches and shows appropriate minor dings and dents with no cracks or breaks, it does have a hole on the bottom of the forend and buttstock that was probably for sling swivels (see photos). An old Lyman receiver sight (sorry I don't know which model, see photo) A beautiful carbine and a great addition to any collection.
