M1 Garand Converted to Magazine Fed 7.62mm

7.62mm M1 Garand made by Springfield Armory originally made in August 1943. The wood on the bottom of the pistol grip is stamped Model 1, 7.62 Nato, Alpine. Alpine Company converted this to 7.62mm (.308) and to use M14 magazines. The receiver appears to be a reweld. Not to many of these are around. Birch wood stock with a rubber buttpad. The manufacturers name, (Springfield), and model has been mostly buffed off when it was reblued but the serial number is still visable. The buyer MUST have a qualified gunsmith inspect the rifle BEFORE you fire it. We know nothing else about this rifle.
