Muzzleloader Short Starter .50 Caliber

The TRESO short starter is considered the standard. The handle is a 1¾”diameter hardwood ball. The long starter is selected straight grain hickory wood with a brass tip to prevent splitting. The .32 caliber starter has a brass starter. The button starter in the ball is solid brass and is 90°from the long starter making it convenient to hold in one hand while the other starts the ball or bullet in the muzzle of the barrel. Both button and long starter tip are cupped to center the starter over the bullet. Starters are dipped in hot linseed oil for a durable finish.
