This is a French Mas 1935, 7.65 long calibered semi-automatic pistol. Made by Manufacure d'Armes de St. Etienne, the prototype was adopted by the French Army as the mle 1935. This pistol is the new design of 1937 that featured a more angular look designed to simplify production. Markings on the pistol say, "Modele 1935 S, M1, CAL. 7.65 L, SAGEN, A3540." The pistol comes with one magazine and a black leather holster that appears to have been made for the pistol, with no know method of attaching it to a belt.
