The "Competition Pro Series" three(3) die set is designed for use in progressive reloading machines by reloaders seeking the most advanced bullet alignment available. This deluxe version of our Pro Series die set also contains our Titanium Carbide sizing die and Profile Crimp Die. (Taper crimp dies for cartridges that headspace on the case mouth.) No expander die is included, as the most popular progressive machines expand the case mouth at the powder metering station. The Competition Seating Die and crimping die have a special large radius at the mouth for easy case entry.

The precision fitting seating stem is allowed to move well down into the chamber of the die to accomplish early bullet contact. The spring loading of the seating stem provides the positive alignment bias between its tapered nose and the bullet ogive. This spring loading and bullet alignment are maintained as the bullet and cartridge case move upward until the actual seating of the bullet begins. This new Advance Bullet Alignment feature assures you of the straightest possible bullet alignment for handgun and straight wall rifle cartridges. Minimizing bullet run out and improving accuracy. The micrometer adjustment simplifies setting and recording bullet seating depth.

For Lyman, RCBS, 4-D and Redding dies. We offer these two diameter expander plugs in increments of .001". Typically you should have one diameter .001"-.002" smaller than the bullet diameter and the expander section not less than .002"-.003" bigger than bullet diameter. These come with an allen screw type lock ring so you never loose your setting. While we do keep some of the more popular sizes in stock most of these are custom made to order. Since carbide dies are not available for certain cartridges, the sizing die is Redding's unique 91000 series in heat-treeted steel. To apply a tighter, more uniform roll type crimp, the popular Profile Crimp Die is used. No expander die is included, as most popular progressive machines expand the case mouth at the powder metering station.

These were designed for those who want the best possible crimp. Profile crimp dies provide a tighter, more uniform taper type crimp, and requires the bullet to be seated to the correct depth in a previous operation.
