Springfield Armory 1884 Trapdoor Springfield. The breech block is marked U.S. Model 1873 with a script P proof stamped in the wood behind the trigger. Barrel blue is turning plum color most of the original blue remains on the trigger guard and lock. The inspector cartouche is dated 1885 and have the inspectors initials of SWP (Samuel W. Porter). Some case colors remain on the the breech block and upper tang. The stock is solid with no breaks but does show minor dings and dents from over 120 years of use. Very good near excellent bore, should make a good shooter or collector piece. Please call and ask questions as we do not refund shipping charges!!!
