An absolute must for the competitor is a stable scope stand. I have tried a number of different styles but this one comes in head and shoulders ahead of all the others. The legs fold for transport/storage. The legs are clear anodized and the base is parkerized. The head is machined solid plastic to reduce weight where it is not needed. It has a machined plastic pivoting plate, to which the scope is attached. Operated by a unique cam from the right and side of the scope to control elevation. It can be used inverted and/or reversed. The scope stand is designed to be used with any tripod mountable spotting scope. It is tall enough to be used by almost any height shooter in offhand use when using a 45 degree eyepiece scope. This style of scope stand is the sturdiest and most stable on the market and the easiest to operate. The main tube is stiff and moves less in the wind. Manufacturer lifetime guarantee against breakage . Shown with optional Kowa spotting scope attached, see scope listing.
One inch stainless steel tubing for the main support pole with 5/8" steel threaded connectors. The support pole is 60" long and comes in 3 pieces. The tripod base is a solid steel block with inset 1" x 1/2" solid aluminum legs that pivot on hardened and ground shoulder bolts.
